Our Team
Katie Harriman
Katie is a videographer, cinematographer and director based in East Yorkshire.
After a short lived, uninspiring two years working in the film and tv industry, Katie Harriman founded yorkshire video production company ‘Fly Girl Films’ in 2013. Since then, katie has worked with the arts community to deliver social campaign films, documentary projects and short films to organisations across Yorkshire and beyond. Giving companies and charities an option to work with a friendly, female crew understanding that the conventional corporate style doesn’t always work for arts organisations.
Over the last 12 years, katie has racked up a long list of notable clients, most recently producing short films with youth theatre groups (such as the national theatr’es “Speak Up” project) to enable them to speak out on important topics from LGBTQ+ issues to knife crime, domestic violence and mental health.
Katie has directed two short films Last Orders (2019) and Huggo (2022) starring Siobhan Finneran. She has worked as cinematographer on various short films including the BFI funded short “Stupid”.
in 2025 after 6 years of dreaming up the idea, Katie finally launched “Riot Girl COllective’ to work on short film projects dedicated to empowering women, girls, trans and non-binary people to create their own short films.
Aimee Bant
Aimee is a filmmaker and photographer based in East Yorkshire.
Aimee has recently worked as a camera operator on Discovery Plus’ “Help! My house is haunted” and regularly works alongside director Katie Harriman in the Fly Girl Films team and together on independent shorts. In 2020, they worked in the camera team for Hull based documentary Unsilenced, produced by Spinster Films, which explored the impact of the pandemic on the lives of young women. In October 2019 Aimee took the role of director of
photography for her first short film, Last Orders, a female fronted comedy drama written by Amy Charles and directed by Katie. It has since had success on its festival round, including awards for best comedy film and best cinematographer. in 2022 she worked as Director of Photography on her second short, “Huggo” working with big names such as Siobhan Finneran and Bebe Cave.
Going forward she aims to work on more shorts and independent feature films as a cinematographer, mainly looking for stories that represent women and the LGBTQ+ community and couldn’t be more excited to be involved with Riot Girl.
